Enhance your data security with Alkymi’s new dynamic access controls

by Elizabeth Matson

Website Pattern Permissions

This year, we’ve rolled out several new features to enable our customers to set stricter data segregation and security rules for their teams and datasets within Alkymi’s platform. Launching today, our newest feature gives firms more granular access controls across their data workflows for increased security, while also enabling them to further streamline their operations.

Large private markets firms, OCIOs, and fund administrators manage multiple funds and portfolios across the back, middle, and front offices. With different teams managing distinct workflows, firms need a strong segregation of data to meet enterprise security and regulatory requirements as well as client confidentiality needs.

Our new feature enables firms to control document visibility and access by Pattern, offering more flexibility in meeting security requirements and ensuring firms’ team members only access data relevant to their assigned use cases.

With Pattern Permissions, firms can create dynamic user groups aligned with their sophisticated data workflows, enhancing their security across their operations. Institute granular access controls for each team, such as:

  • Capital Notices team: Analysts responsible for tracking capital call deadlines, monitoring capital inflows and outflows, or kicking-off payment workflows can be assigned access to only Capital Notice Patterns.
  • Capital Account Statements team: Analysts preparing investor reports and performance summaries can be assigned access to only Capital Account Statement or PCAP Patterns.
  • Investor Relations team: Analysts who need a comprehensive view of both Capital Calls and Distributions and Capital Account Statements can be assigned access to both Patterns, giving them full access for reporting and providing client updates.

Workflow-level permissions can also be layered with our user role for Reviewers for additional access control; for example, a junior compliance analyst tasked with reviewing Capital Account Statements for one LP can be granted access only to their assigned documents for review, not broader fund-level data. Working in tandem, these customizable, dynamic access controls ensure your teams see only the data relevant to their workflows, reducing data exposure risks and supporting enterprise security requirements.

Pattern Permissions

With more advanced permissions, firms can now centralize their operations in a single tenant—offering visibility into all teams’ workflows in one central location, reducing operational silos, and scaling team management without compromising security.
